EDCOIL is a coil, platinum microspiral , released by an Electro Detach Generator, EDGV4. through electrolytic detach system at 70 ° C
EDCOIL allows the embolization of small-medium sized vessels.
ED COIL is used during PCI for CTO procedure , in presence of arterial fistulas o aneurysm and when coronary perforation occurs.
The Electro Detach Generator v4 detects and indicates by sound and light signals the best detach point of the ED COIL even when the position of the second marker of a microcatheter is not detectable under a X-ray fluoroscopy.
Then Electro Detach Generator v4 develops high frequency electric current from the proximal end of the hypotube delivery and the transfers to the distal tract of the hypotube. The heat melts the PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) rod, which connects the spiral, allowing detachment and positioning of the same in the target lesion.
