  • HD IVUS: anatomy before and after PCI

iHeartX combines high-definition IVUS and coronary physiology in one workstation. Its TRUEVISON™ imaging catheters offer 40/60 MHz, five pullback speeds (0.5, 1, 3, 5 and 10 mm/s) and a 150 mm pullback length.

    Easy Go 2.0: pre-PCI analysis

Easy Go 2.0 combines co-registration and automatic edge detection. It maps lesion distribution and calculates mean lumen and vessel diameters. Automated analysis also identifies calcium, minimum lumen area (MLA), plaque burden and side branches.

    Post-PCI stent assessment

After stenting, the software recognises the stent and calculates minimum stent area (MSA) and expansion ratio. It also provides malapposition alerts. These are manufacturer-described analysis capabilities for clinician review.

FFR and cRR: inspect the signal and the pullback

TruePhysio™ X is the wireless rapid-exchange pressure microcatheter described for iHeartX. Its 1.56F in-lesion profile runs over any 0.014 inch guidewire. The catheter incorporates two temperature sensors and a radiopaque marker for depth localisation.

    inSmartGuide: signal verification

The software checks for Pa drops or artefacts, residual contrast, sensor contact with the vessel wall and maximal hyperaemia status.

    inSmartPhysio: pullback analysis

The software calculates changes in distal pressure, FFR and cRR (ΔPd / ΔFFR / ΔcRR) along pullback curves and offers virtual stent simulation for planning.

Turn the demonstration into a useful clinical discussion

Ask to see a complete, anonymised example rather than a single selected image. Bring the questions your team needs to answer:

    1. Before PCI: can the team locate the segment of interest, review the detected borders and explain which measurements it would accept or reassess?
    2. During physiology review: can users recognise a trace that needs checking, describe the pullback findings and separate a simulated result from an observed measurement?
    3. After PCI: can the operator explain the software findings and the clinical reasoning behind any proposed next action?

Software output supports the discussion; it does not select a treatment or guarantee an outcome. Use an equipment demonstration to assess the workflow. Decisions for an individual patient remain with the treating team.

Plan the configuration and the training

Before ordering, tell EUKON which equipment is installed, who will use it and which functions matter to your service. Request confirmation of the catheter references, installed software and local availability of the proposed features.

For an existing physiology service, ask specifically about the upgrade path. The original TruePhysio and VivoCardio product names do not establish compatibility with the TruePhysio X / iHeartX configuration.

Arrange a demonstration around your team’s questions and a separate hands-on Education session for preparation and operation. Clinical setup and acquisition must follow the supplied, applicable IFU.

For purchasing teams, include staff training, consumable references and support arrangements in the evaluation, so the demonstration answers operational as well as clinical questions.
